We are an Association made up from individuals and corporate members encompassing clubs throughout the UK. Holding charity status, the AWGB is a national body representing woodturners from Great Britain and further afield.

We provide advice and support for woodturners of all ages with training courses.

We live in Suffolk, which is a delightful county in East Anglia. Brian is a retired electronic engineer who now spends his time woodturning amongst many other things. Olive is an artist who uses both oils and watercolours and makes the most delightful cards with silk flowers. They have a daughter Lesley and son Mark and three Grandchildren.

An expert turner, Paul is a member of the AWGB (Association of Woodturners of Great Britain), the SECB (Suffolk, Essex and Cambridge Borders) Colchester Woodturning Club. He is also the Chairman for the Sandon Woodturners, who meet every Saturday. Simon's main focus is now the design and development of his own range of tools and accessories which he has developed since around 2005. His tools can be seen in stock by many retailers around the world and used by hobbyists and professional turners alike. He strives to produce tools that he would want to use as a wood turner himself.

Andy has numerous years woodturning experience and is very well respected in the woodturning world. In 2006 he was invited on to the Register of Professional Turners, but later resigned around 2017. He also served on the committee of the Association Of Woodturners of Great Britain (AWGB), latterly as Chairman, before retiring from the AWGB after eleven year’s service.

We are a branch of the AWGB in East Anglia  We have demonstrations and talks at our monthly meetings and during the year we also have one day demonstrations given by well known turning celebrities.

We are a small but friendly branch which meets in the ancient town of Hadleigh Suffolk  and would be pleased to see any other woodturners who visit the town. We have demonstrations from both club members and visiting turners we also have hands on evenings to help members try different techniques. Membership is open to any woodturner.
